A nationally prominent law firm seeks a Chief Talent Officer to be based in one of the firm’s Connecticut locations. This leadership position will involve advising firm leadership on all facets of human resources, recruitment, diversity, and professional development, while ensuring the firm remains compliant with industry standards and best practices. The person in this role will be tasked with hiring, evaluating, and motivating the professional staff, successfully resolving employee relations issues, and directing lateral attorney acquisition efforts. Furthermore, the CTO will be responsible for mentoring and training departmental managers, leading onboarding and integration efforts, and determining compensation levels and performance improvement plans. Overall, this individual must able to promote an environment of collaboration, innovation, and client service.
The qualified applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of progressive experience in a human resources, recruiting, or professional development position in a law firm setting; an advanced degree such as a Master’s, JD, or professional certification would be preferred. To become the Chief Talent Officer, a candidate must demonstrate highly developed leadership and communication skills, the ability to motivate a staff, and familiarity with related procedures and best practices. The successful individual will also have the ability to implement process improvements and evaluation metrics, while analyzing workflows and communicating changes in an effective manner.
