Position Description:

An elite law firm seeks a Business Development Manager to lead a team of professionals in the execution of marketing initiatives for the firm’s Transactional Practices. This position will involve spearheading numerous business development initiatives, including directing the pitch and proposal process, developing creative marketing collateral, and curating practice descriptions, experience lists, and attorney bios. The BD Manager will be responsible for keeping a pulse on industry trends, researching developments with current or prospective clients, and recommending ways to enhance the firm’s processes. He or she will also support attorneys with respect to speaking engagements, sponsorship opportunities, and client events.

Required Skills:

The qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of experience in business development within a law firm or professional services setting. The selected candidate will demonstrate high effective communication and project management skills, familiarity with corporate transactional matters, and a background in client research, proposal creation, and pitch development. He or she must be able to motivate and mentor a team while interfacing regularly with clients and attorneys. Proficiency with marketing intelligence and client relationship management systems is preferred.
