Position Description:
A law firm in New York is seeking a Director of Communications to lead and mentor a team and develop communication strategies for both internal and external audiences. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and defining the objectives of the firm’s communications programs, as well as maintaining and expanding the firm’s media contacts. This role will involve providing media training to the attorneys, proactively planning for crisis management situations, and identifying emerging trends in the communications space. The Director will also oversee the firm’s relationships with external PR agencies and recommend opportunities for bylined articles, thought leadership, and other firm announcements.
Required Skills:
This position requires a minimum of 10 years of legal marketing experience, including several years in a supervisory capacity. The qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well in high-pressure situations as well as strong communication, writing and editing, and project management skills. The Director of Communications must be a team player who can work effectively with Senior Partners and Firm Leadership.
Annual Salary (US$): 175,000-215,000 /annual
